GRENADE THROWER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: military equipment, hand grenade throwers designed for close combat. SUBSTANCE: grenade thrower has barrel unit, box with locking mechanism, firing mechanism and butt-stock. Salient feature of proposed grenade thrower lies in manufacture of barrel unit in the from of breech piece with two barrels fixed vertically, breech block is mounted on axis for translation in parallel to barrels and turn through 90 degrees in hole of breech piece. Breech piece is fitted with two protrusions with firing rests in the form of flanges. Front part of breech block carries two obturator pistons with gas dynamic grooves mounted for entry into barrels and extractor-obturator placed between them. Breech block has lateral window housing bolthead that can be turned around axle equidistant from barrels. Front part of bolthead is made fast to axle. Bore with two through helical grooves is made in rear part of axle that interacts with lateral pin located in bore of guide with shoulder in lower part to engage lateral wall of locking lever that can turn on lateral axis anchored in lower part of breech block.
