FIELD: sanitary absorbing materials and articles. SUBSTANCE: folded laminated compound material consists of cloth, film, foam or their combination. Laminated material has the first layer of flexible reversely elongating material fastened, in places separated by intervals and located separately from one another to at least one additional layer of flexible material where both layers are folded. In this case, folds of one layer are not parallel to folds of other layer. Compound material may be produced by reversible tension of the first layer accompanied by reversible contraction of the first layer in direction coplanar-orthogonal to direction of tension. Strained and narrowed first layer is fastened in places separated by intervals and located separately from one another at least to one additional layer of flexible nontensionable material which consists of cloth, film, foam or their combination. Then tension of said strained and fastened laminated material is released, and it forms three-dimensional laminated compound material. In this case, both layers of said material are folded, and folds of the first layer are out of parallel to folds of the other layer. Laminated compound material of the present invention may be used in manufacture of various articles, including the following ones but go beyond them, sanitary articles such as towels, sanitary swaddling clothes, articles used in incontinence, and also bandages, wound dressings, bandaging materials, liners and bandages for treatment of varicose ulcers, surgical sheets, soft lining materials. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 53 cl, 18 dwg, 1 tbl
