METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF HEPATIC ECHINOCOCCUS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgery. SUBSTANCE: 1-3 d before the onset of laparoscopic operation one should conduct a percutaneous perhepatic punction of echinococcal cyst with a needle catheter. Under ultrasound control one should conduct complete aspiration of hydatid liquid. Then cystic cavity is supplemented with an adequate volume of the mixture consisted of aqueous glycerol at concentration being above 80% and 0.5-1% roentgenocontrast preparation against the volume introduced. Roentgenotelecontrol is conducted to study the absence of connection between biliary ducts and abdominal cavity. After 8-10-min-long exposure one should correct an aspirate for the absence of alive parasites. After their complete death the needle is removed. The method decreases the risk of abdominal cavity inoculation with germinal elements of echinococcus. EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy. 1 ex
