CROSS-COUNTRY VEHICLE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cross-country vehicles and protection of team from impact loads, including explosions. It can be used both in civil and military road vehicles. Said vehicle has engine, transmission, cab and load-and-passenger module with seats, all mounted on frame of sidemember type. Frame is made wedge-like in cross section in zone of front and rear axles, and is provided with protection buffers made of sheet material in its middle part to accommodate vehicle structure members, fuel tanks and/or additional reservoirs filled with liquid. Wheel houses of hyperbolic shape are rigidly secured on frame. Cab and load-and-passenger module are secured on frame through rubber shock absorbers. Bottoms of cab and load-and-passenger module are made of energy absorbing material. Seats of driver and passengers are suspended from side walls, and energy absorbing mats made of sponge rubber are laid on floor of cab and load-and-passenger module.
