FIELD: methods of preparation of make-up water for boilers and heat supply lines; ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy; chemical and oil refining industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of water in filter containing weakly-acid cationite in its upper part and highly-acid cationite in its lower part; water is supplied downward and regeneration is performed upward first with solution of acid and then with solution of salt; acid solutions are prepared on waste water of previous regeneration processes and lower layer of cationite is immediately washed-off by the same waste water for removal of acid; salt solution is prepared by mixing the concentrated of treated water and part of the same waste water; this solution is delivered after washing lower layers of cationite off acid. EFFECT: reduced consumption of salt; enhanced efficiency of utilization of waste water and blowdown water; enhanced ecological safety; avoidance of crystallization of calcium sulfate in the course of regeneration of cationites. 6 cl, 1 dwg
