METHOD OF AUTOMATIC LEVELING OF PLATFORM CARRYING DRILLING RIG AND DEVICE FOR METHOD EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: drilling technique, particularly, methods and devices for automatic leveling of platform carrying drilling rig; applicable on self-propelled drilling rigs. SUBSTANCE: method includes driving of self-propelled drilling rig with platform carrying drilling rig in over-the-road position to preliminarily marked off drilling site; performance of main process operations including determination of drilling rig position with respect to drilling site, extension of at least three hydraulic jacks down to ground, levelling the carrying platform together with drilling rig in two planes by X and Y axes, or setting the drilling rig vertically, or at some angle to axis Y. Hydraulic jacks are engaged, and extended to their contact with ground. Pressure equalling or close to weight of hydraulic rig is supplied to all hydraulic jacks; hydraulic jacks are successively engaged, and they are extended to short time for ensuring guaranteed suspension of drilling rig from hydraulic jacks. Command is formed for automatic leveling of drilling rig, first, by axis X and then by axis Y. Then position of carrying platform with drilling rig is analyzed by axes X and Y; first, position is analyzed by axis X and then by axis Y. Results of analysis are used for correction of drilling rig position in the course of its setting to horizontal position by axes X and Y by automatic control of extension of hydraulic jacks. Command is formed for ending of leveling, when in the course of correction, simultaneous leveling by axes X and Y of carrying platform and drilling rig is attained. If it is not attained, command is formed for repeated leveling cycle, beginning from initial analysis of position of carrying platform with drilling rig by axis X. Device for method embodiment is located on self-propelled drilling rig with control panel in operator's cab. Control panel includes switch unit having at least three switches for engagement and disengagement of hydraulic jacks containing three control units of hydraulic jacks successively connected, respectively, with three hydraulic jacks. Control units of hydraulic jacks and hydraulic jacks are located and rigidly secured to carrying platform lower part. Device also has pressure pickup, time interval former, two level gages, one of which analyses position of carrying platform with drilling rig by axis X in the course of leveling, and the other level gage analyses position of carrying platform with drilling rig, in the course of leveling, by axis Y, and levelling control unit. EFFECT: required accuracy and rate of leveling of carrying platform with drilling rig and installation of drilling rig in maximum stable position after leveling. 3 cl, 3 dwg
