FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves processing tape patches by milling and simultaneously cutting channels in surface layer at site spaced from side edges by distance equal to depth of balanced wood moisture content fluctuations during operation, that is, 10-15 mm, and in the middle of width on opposite tape patch for reducing natural stretching stresses extending perpendicular to glued connection surfaces due to warpage of tapes, nonuniform changing of their thickness and transverse flexure. Width of channels does not exceed 0.02 the width of tape and depth of channels is equal to doubled width thereof. Method further involves pressing in by additional drying of surface zone, for example, by temporary elevation of pressing temperature to provide for local overdrying of wood to moisture content lower than balanced moisture content, and occurrence of prevailingly compressive stresses transverse to filaments during operation. Method allows value of natural transverse extension stresses to be reduced, overheating of glued connections in surface and middle zones to be prevented and formation of physical fatigue cracks in construction to be omitted during fluctuations of temperature and moisture content of environment.
