FIELD: ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: tilting mechanism has bowl supporting ring, rolls and toothed sectors, which are rigidly connected to supporting ring. Rolls rest upon cylindrical guides fixed on slag car frame. Driven toothed sector is engaged with drive gear of reducer output shaft. Self-braking worm-and-worm pair is positioned at terminating or penultimate low-speed stage of reducer. Lead angle of worm-and-worm pair is less than friction angle. Said mechanism may be used in equipment for transporting slag from blast or steel melting shops, as well as from melting units. EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliable retaining of bowl in vertical position during slag transportation. 3 dwg
