FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely apparatuses for protecting steel stream flowing out of steel casting ladle to intermediate ladle and from intermediate ladle to molds. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes casting nozzle with cone outer surface arranged in bottom of steel casting ladle and/or intermediate ladle and butt joined to respective cone inner surface of immersible metal conduit; gasket in the form of ring arranged between cone surfaces of casting nozzle and immersible metal conduit; supply branch pipe connected with inner cavity of cone portion of immersible metal conduit. Inclination angle of cone surface of casting nozzle is more than inclination angle of cone surface of immersible metal conduit by 2-6 deg. Gasket is made of non-organic material and it includes in additive matter subjected to glazing at heating. Branch pipe is mounted with inclination angle 45 -80 degrees towards side of casting nozzle relative to lengthwise axis of immersible metal conduit and it is deflected from diametric plane of immersible metal conduit by angle +-15 degrees. Gasket may be impregnated with solution of material having melting temperature 300 -1000 C such as sodium silicate, sodium polyphoshate or alumoborosilicate glass. Gasket may be made of mixture of non-organic matter and organic material in the form of rubber, urea-formaldehyde resin or phenol-formaldehyde resin. It is possible to use gasket made of mullite-silica fibres or of basalt fibres.
