FIELD: plastic metal working, namely strip thickness control at cold rolling. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for working off strip thickness fluctuations in first stand of cold rolling mill includes first meter for measuring fluctuation of strip thickness from predetermined value before stand; second meter for measuring strip thickness behind stand; inlet for acting upon strip reduction in stand with use of adder. One inlet of adder is connected with outlet of first meter through connected in series high-frequency filter and unit for strip tracking. Said unit includes inlet for tuning through integrator. Another inlet of adder is connected with outlet of second meter through regulator. Inlet of integrator is connected with outlet of multiplier. One inlet of multiplier is connected with outlet of unit for tracking strip through second tracking unit; other inlet of multiplier is connected with outlet of second meter through connected in series high-frequency filter and differentiating device. EFFECT: possibility for self-tuning of control system of hydraulic screwdown mechanism of first stand according to fluctuation from accurate tuning at working off fluctuation of thickness of strip fed to continuous cold rolling mill. 2 dwg
