FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of purification of crude ε-caprolactam prepared by cyclization of aminocaproic acid nitrile or by Beckman's rearrangement. Crude ε-caprolactam is treated with complex boron hydride taken in the concentration from 0.4 to 1 wt.% as measured for the raw. Complex boron hydride is taken among the group: sodium boron hydride, lithium boron hydride, potassium boron hydride and the prepared mixture is distilled by fractions to yield the pure product. Preferably, crude ε-caprolactam is treated with from 10 to 50 wt.% of water as measured for ε-caprolactam to be purified. EFFECT: improved economical indices of process. 2 cl, 2 ex
