FIELD: hydrometallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at one of gold and sliver extraction stages, namely, at extraction of gold and silver from ores. According to invention, gold or silver is extracted from ores by treatment of ores with sodium cyanide in presents of oxygen of air with use of alcohols or nitriles or dimethyl formamide or their mixtures as solvent. EFFECT: improved efficiency of process owing to reduction of losses of precious metals, and facilitated separation of productive solutions from leached ore. 1 tbl
