FIELD: processing of industrial wastes; pyrometallurgical method of production of copper. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is based on using copper-containing raw material with the use of solid carbon-containing reductant; used as said components are copper-containing carbon adsorbent - wastes of synthetic rubber production after cleaning of copper-containing solutions from heavy oligomers by means of carbon adsorbent. Wastes may be also used in mixture with primary copper-containing raw material - charge prepared by standard method in shaft furnace or reverberatory furnace. Method employs standard technological modes of melting and copper-containing carbon adsorbent is taken in the amount of 0.01-5% of mass of charge. Proposed method excludes use of additional reagents, for example coke since wastes contain carbon in the amount exceeding stoichiometrically required level. Processing of dump waste product of copper-containing adsorbent makes it possible to remove copper compounds and to obtain additional product, that is metallic copper. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 6 cl, 1 dwg
