FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of preparing cotton and linen warps for weaving, in particular of preparing size. The latter operation is accomplished by introducing starch cleavage agent, in particular polyenzyme preparation containing endo-glycosidases and peptide-hydrolases, into suspension of starch product in water. More specifically, endo-1,4-alpha-D- glucane-glucanohydrolase and endo-1,4-beta-glucanase as glycosidases and serine proteinases and/or metalloproteinases as peptide-hydrolases are utilized. Resulting mixture is then subjected to gelatinization and ripened. Invention essentially simplifies technology of preparing size from flour and starch and allows avoiding use of corrosive chemicals and improving processability of yarn because of increased quality of size. EFFECT: improved quality of desizing of textiles in finishing stage due to increased moisture absorption of size film, accelerated desorption of starch, and reduced amount of remaining starch impurities. 1 tbl, 4 ex
