FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is adapted for washing machine having boiling function and provided with device for heating washing water. Method involves determining setting of washing and boiling operation completion mode; supplying cold water into washing machine, when temperature of washing water measured in completion mode exceeds temperature of discharged water; controlling electric engine of washing machine in accordance with difference of measured washing water temperature and temperature of water discharged during supplying of cold water. Method allows temperature of discharged washing water to be reduced to temperature at which water may be discharged. EFFECT: increased efficiency and safe discharge of washing water after reduction of temperature to value, which may not cause burning of user's skin. 8 cl, 5 dwg
