FIELD: space engineering; on-board terminal control units of cryogenic stages provided with non- adjustable cruise engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in predicting motion of cryogenic stage at fixed pitch at each clock period of terminal control. Predicted duration of maneuver of cryogenic stage at first clock period is assumed to be equal to preset magnitude and that obtained during previous clock period for subsequent clock periods. Integration pitch is reduced to minimum permissible magnitude predicting the moments of termination of maneuver and engine cut-off time by summing-up duration of integration pitches till moment of attaining preset magnitude of cryogenic stage energy functional. Rate of change of said energy functional is determined by three fixed pitches before termination of integration and remaining time till termination of integration is estimated. If remaining time does not exceed integration time, subsequent integration pitch is set to be equal to 0.9 of this remaining time. Procedure is continued till integration pitch gets equal to minimum permissible magnitude. EFFECT: reduced scope of calculations. 1 tbl
