SUBSTANCE: method is characterized in that commutator blank is cut from sheet material whose length is smaller than perimeter of working surface, commutator lug is formed by splitting tooth into two parts at the same time bending out one of them; blank is folded until sides are mating to form cylinder with clearance obtained between upper sides; clearance width should be smaller than segment-to-segment interval; commutator lug and leg are bent inside cylinder through different angles, commutator blank is molded in plastic to form hollow cylinder with partition dividing it into two parts; partition may be perforated. EFFECT: reduced axial length, enhanced quality, and facilitated manufacture of electrical machine. 2 cl, 5 dwg
