PROCEDURE SELECTING USEFUL INFORMATION IN DETECTORS OF RADAR SIGNALS AND FACILITY FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: procedure selecting useful information in detectors of radar signals lies in that analog echo signals after detection in detectors are converted to digital form with the aid of analog-to-digital converter and are recorded in input storage for subsequent primary processing and detection of aerial objects by obtainment of value of resultant signal from stored echo signal from radar package from each aerial object and ensuing comparison of resultant signal with threshold value that is assigned depending on particular noise situation in process of operation. If value of resultant signal does not exceed threshold value then decision is made that analyzed package of radar signal is false and if it exceeds threshold value then decision is made that aerial object which is displayed on indicators of individual and collective use is detected. Prior to start of information processing known function of relation of likelihood for single echo signal in the form of table of correspondence of echo signal and value of function proper is recorded a priori by means of input facility to reprogrammed permanent storage of correspondence. Then in the course of information processing values of function of relation of likelihood which are recorded in storage of values of relation of likelihood are determined for each single echo signal selected from input storage and all values of function of relation of likelihood are obtained in this fashion per each radar package. Later product of values of function of relation of likelihood is established with the aid of computer for all these values of function of relation of likelihood and arithmetic root of degree equal to number of single echo signals in given radar package is extracted from this product and geometrical mean of function of relation of likelihood is obtained and employed in the capacity of access address to reprogrammed permanent storage of correspondence. Value equivalent to radar package of echo signals is read from this reprogrammed permanent storage into computer in the capacity of first operand, value of echo signals is read in same manner from same reprogrammed permanent storage in the capacity of second operand when maximal value is used as access address to reprogrammed permanent storage of correspondence. Further absolute difference is found in computer for above-mentioned operands and used as value of resultant signal of radar package for comparison with value of threshold.
