FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; manufacture of automobile parts, parts for agricultural and construction machines by cold deformation method. SUBSTANCE: proposed low-alloy steel contains the following components, mass-%: carbon, 0.05-0.09; manganese, 015-0.40; copper, 0.01-0.50; aluminum, 0.03-0.07; phosphorus, 0.04-0.10; nitrogen, 0.003- 0.007; chromium, 0.01-0.20; calcium, 0.0005-0.0010; sulfur, 0.005- 0.025; iron being the remainder; content of sulfur and calcium is determined by the following relationship S/Ca>5 and content of phosphorus, carbon, manganese and chromium is expressed by the following dependence P(mass-%)/[0,126-0,14(C+Mn+Cr)]>0,5. Articles may be made from this steel in form of hot- rolled strip, 2.0 to 15 mm thick, in form of cold-rolled sheet or band, 0.5 to 3.0 mm thick, as well as in form of front parts of automobile body.
