METHOD FOR TREATING AND PREVENTING SOME DISEASES OF REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS IN ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary medicine. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with medicinal activation of specific work of smooth uterine musculature, prevention of delay and removal of delayed afterbirth, prophylaxis and therapy of postnatal endometritis. "Oxycamph" preparation is injected into ventral, dorsal lumbar muscles in animals or pararectally; this preparation contains solutions of medicinal substances at the following ratio of components, weight%: oxytocin solution containing 5 U/ml 22.6-24.2, 2%-synestrol oily solution 6.0-7.6, 20%- camphor oily solution 45.6- 47.2, 10%-lidocaine hydrochloride solution 22.6-24.2 at the dosage of 0.08- 0.13 ml/kg body weight. At treating weak tongs of smooth uterine musculature this preparation should be injected for parturient patients before the onset of labor or between contractions. In case of afterbirth delay this preparation should be injected 20- 60 min after the birth of successive offspring. In case of treating postnatal endometritis the preparation in question is injected at interval of 1-2 d for several times, but in case of uterine cavity washing at open cervix with solutions of medicinal substances recommended for this cases. The method provides combined impact onto different function in parturient patients at weak contractions of smooth uterine musculature at prolonged delivery, for the purpose to remove delayed afterbirth, to prevent the development and therapy of postnatal endometritis and improve the state of sick animal in short terms.
