FIELD: nondestructive inspection, detection of gas-saturated layers in titanium alloys, measurement of thickness of coats of current-conducting articles. SUBSTANCE: facility includes master generator, eddy-current converter, variable capacitor and variable resistor forming four-arm measuring bridge, double-circuit self-excited generator, amplitude detectors and zero setting circuits coupled to proper contacts of switch connected with contacts to outputs of adder. Invention makes it possible to enlarge considerably range of tuning away from effect of change of conductivity of defect-free sections of tested articles and reference specimens ensuring direct tuning away from gap between eddy-current converter and tested article and therefore direct tuning away from roughness and irregularity of surfaces of tested articles during detection of gas-saturated layers in titanium alloys and to measure value of roughness and thickness of current-conducting and nonconductive coats of nonmagnetic current-conducting articles with tuning away from current-conducting base of metal.
