FIELD: construction and finishing works. SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with construction and finishing works. It presents a thixotropic paint-and-varnish composition, that may be used for construction and finishing internal and outside operations. The composition includes an enamel based on the alkyd binding agent, dissolvents, pigments and fillers, that in addition contains from 15 up to 25 (mass %) of water solution of polyvinyl alcohol) with its share in the solution of no more than 0.02 %. The composition has high thixotropy, does not leak at application, does not delaminate at a storage, saves all properties inherent to the alkyd enamels.
