FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: The invention relates to the catalytic system and to the corresponding method of an oxidative dehydrogenation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons, in particular, ethylbenzene, or paraffins up to corresponding alkynylaromatic hydrocarbons, in particular styrene, or up to the corresponding olefins. There is a description of the catalytic system for an oxidative dehydrogenation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons, in particular, ethyl benzene, or paraffins up to the corresponding alkynylaromatic hydrocarbons, in particular styrene, or up to the corresponding olefins, that includes: (in mass %) vanadium oxide; in terms of V2O5 from 1 up to 15, a bismuth oxide; in terms of Bi2O3 from 2 up to 30, the carrying agent on the basis of a magnesium - the rest. There is also a description of a method of a dehydrogenation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons at 400-750 under pressure from 0.69 kPa up to 207 kPa in presence the catalytic system described above, providing its regeneration under the temperature exceeding 400 . EFFECT: increased activity of the catalyst. 11 cl, 2 tbl, 20 dwg, 9ex
