FIELD: spiral-type heat exchangers; utilization of heat of dust-laden flue gases and kiln gases. SUBSTANCE: proposed heat exchanger has conical shell branch pipes supplying heating medium and medium to be heated. Shell has L-shaped (angular) section in form of taper spiral around inner heat-transfer surface of shell which is formed by two belt spiral surfaces whose generatrices are parallel to generatrices of two adjacent heat-transfer spiral surfaces of said passage found in shell wall. Gaseous heating medium moving through heat exchanger interacts with spiral heat-transfer surfaces and gets twisted in form of vortex, thus intensifying transfer of mass from center portion of flow to its periphery at intensified turbulent washing of entire heat-transfer surface.
