FIELD: method and equipment for electric arc welding by means of consumable electrode with short circuiting of arc gap, possibly manual and semiautomatic DC welding. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting electrode and welding bath by means of electric energy of main DC source; at time moments of short circuiting of arc gap heating up zones of welding and of transition of electrode metal to welding bath by means of power of constantly operating additional electric power source with voltage consisting 0.5 -1.0 of minimum voltage of arc burning. Power source includes main DC source, constantly operating additional electric energy source whose voltage consists 0.5 -1.0 of minimum voltage of arc burning and circuit for controlling thyristors of three-phase rectifier. Main DC source includes secondary winding of power three-phase transformer, three-phase semiconductor thyristor rectifier connected with inlets of secondary winding and smoothing choke connected to one outlet of three-phase rectifier. Additional source includes additional winding of above mentioned three-phase transformer, non-controlled additional three-phase rectifier whose inlets are connected with outlets of said winding and additional smoothing choke connected in series with one outlet of non-controlled additional three-phase rectifier. Positive pole of additional electric energy source is connected with positive pole of main DC source; negative pole of additional electric energy source is connected with negative pole of main DC source. Continuous power supply of electric arc synchronously with time moment of starting short circuiting provides power feed to welding zone and increases intensity of heat separation until value sufficient for preventing cooling of melt metal and also provides metal transition to bath at manual and semiautomatic welding.
