SUBSTANCE: the method consists in the fact that the cutting knives of the cutting machine are preliminarily heat-treated by heating to a temperature of above 0 deg.C, then the heating appliances are cut off with a simultaneous feeding of wood to the zone of cutting. The inner wall of the body in the cutting machine in the zone of the chipper spout is provided with an annular sprayer coaxially installed relative to the axis of rotation of the disk, and having an inlet and outlets. The inlet is located on the outer side of the body and connected to the source of delivery of the air heat-transfer agent. The sprayer outlets are located in the center plane parallel with the disk plane, oriented to its surface to the zones of arrangement of the radially- oriented cutting knives. In the other modification of the cutting machine the disk surface on the side opposite its surface, facing the body wall on the side of the chipper spout, has grooves made in it as a radial-ring system, which bend around the radially oriented knives from their back side and have an electric spiral.
