FIELD: space engineering; performing underwater jobs; coupling spacecraft or underwater vehicles. SUBSTANCE: proposed coupling unit has seat with centering hole and pin mounted on base and provided with leveling cone and centering band engageable with base; centering band is embraced by centering hole of seat. Cone and centering band are made in form of envelope with mounting surface on side of band. Base of pin has hole embracing mounting surface of envelope which may be made in form of surface of body of revolution whose generatrix is convex towards side opposite to axis of pin or coincides by diameter with centering band of envelope; it is mounted in base of pin at guaranteed clearance.
