FIELD: water heating in heating boiler houses. SUBSTANCE: water heater has intercommunicating furnace and convective chamber accommodating heat-transfer surface assembled of vertically disposed tubes provided with separating and accumulating headers. In order to speed up water heating and to reduce fuel consumption by water preheating in heat exchanger, plugs are installed between separating headers which elongate water flow path, change its flow direction, and allow for eliminating dead zones during water circulation; in order to elongate gas flow path, partitions are installed in boiler and between heat exchanger and rear convective tube bundle additionally accumulating heat. Boiler efficiency is enhanced by using exhaust gases for additional water heating; emitted combustion products such as sulfur are fully burned out on partitions thereby preventing corrosion attack on tubes.
