FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry, in particular, equipment for soda or sulfate cooking of raw wood material for producing of cellulose. SUBSTANCE: cooker has vertical cylindrical casing with upper and lower throats, closure, discharge device, circulation grid, with circular conical shield, and branch pipes for supplying and discharging of processing media. Circular conical shield is provided with radial through slots. Supporting members under circular shield are made in the form of steel radial gusset plates and adapted for supporting of cantilevered circular shield so that annular gap is defined between circular shield and casing wall. Circular shield portions defined by radial slots are positioned for angular resilient displacement with respect to casing wall by weight of raw material. Steel gusset plates are equipped with protrusions adapted for free insertion into radial slots, above which protective faceplates are located. Faceplates are attached to casing wall so as to rest against steel gusset plate protrusions for forming of fixed gaps between faceplates and circular shield.
