FIELD: lubricants. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to additives improving tribological characteristics of lubricants when running vehicles and internal combustion engines and provides additive containing 0.3-1.7% of chlorine-containing compound with 42- 47% chlorine and viscosity 400-700 mPa.s and 3-7% of poorly soluble poly-C10-C14-alkylbenzene- and/or poly- C10-C14-alkyltoluenesulfonic acid copper or tin salt, the rest being poly-C10-C14-alkylbenzenes and/or poly-C10- C14-alkyltoluenes. Use of the additive allows power losses in engine to be lowered by 0.1-0.25 kW, reduces specific fuel consumption up to 4.5%, and increases compression in cylinders of worn engine by 5% in average.
