APPARATUS FOR SUPERFINISHING Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: abrasive working, possibly superfinishing machine tools, separately installed apparatuses mounted in lathes, turret-type machine tools and others. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes oscillating mechanism, tool holder, pneumatic distributing unit with rotary gate valve and throttle, cylinder for forcing abrasive block. Said cylinder has housing in which sleeve with stationary piston made monolithically with rod is arranged. Rod is rigidly secured to housing. Inside rod there is axle with disc. Piston and disc have openings and grooves providing free motion of liquid. Disc is made with possibility of rotation by fixed angle. Such design provides rigid and also elastic superfinishing realized respectively at superimposing of openings and grooves of disc and piston or at their matching.
