FIELD: furniture industry, in particular, manufacture of special chairs. SUBSTANCE: chair has seat 4 and back 5. Seat 4 includes front part 41 mounted on construction of base 1,2,7,71 of chair and rear part 42 adjoining front part 41 along joining line extending perpendicular to chair plane of symmetry 3. Chair is further equipped with device 7 for selective adjustment of distance between joining line 43 of seat and back 5 allowing user to sit on seat 4, when user's back is in contact with back 5, in sitting position, when user's hip joints are in vertical plane, in which joining line 43 is extending in said plane. Chair has device for moving rear part 42 of seat in vertical direction relative to front part 41 of seat. Said device has lever 9 and datum point 15 immovable relative to front part 41 of seat. When blocking device 14 of variable length is in its one extreme position, it urges lever 9 to hold rear part 42 of seat at the level of front part 41 of seat. Chair is equipped with switch 16, which is manually actuated to reduce length of blocking device 14 and, accordingly, lower rear part 42 of seat relative to front part of seat.
