FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed ignition system of internal combustion engine contains storage battery, breaker, ignition coil, distributor, spark plugs and control unit. Said control unit includes ambient air moisture sensor, two transistors, three fixed resistors, first adjustable resistor, relay ignition advance angle corrector consisting of housing accommodating bimetallic plate, adjusting screw with contact switch, vacuum corrector made in form of two spaces divided by diaphragm. Moreover, control unit is provided with built-in second adjustable resistor, and infrared exhaust gas moisture content meter is built into exhaust system of internal combustion engine. Invention makes it possible to change ignition advance angle depending on hydrocarbon content of fuel within fuel grade and to use different grades of fuels. EFFECT: possibility of adjusting ignition advance depending on completeness of fuel combustion which is determined by moisture content of exhaust gases. 1 dwg
