FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. SUBSTANCE: invention is dealing with method that can be applied in manufacture of liquid fertilizers, in preparation of matrix for emulsion explosives, in manufacture of granulated mineral fertilizers, in production of calcium carbonate for different branches, and in other areas. Method comprises isolation of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate crystals on cooling of phosphate ore nitric acid extract, melting of crystals, dilution of calcium nitrate melt/solution with 0.5-60% ammonium nitrate solution, and neutralization of dilute solution with ammonia to pH 6.1-7.6 followed by separation of solid impurities by settling resulting suspension in settler in one step. EFFECT: reduced expenses due to simplicity of settling, increased degree of refining, and widened area of application of calcium nitrate and products based thereon. 1 tbl
