RIDGE FORMING METHOD AND APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, formation and cultivation of ridges for vegetable growing. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting furrows and forming ridges by means of hillers; tamping ridge walls before forming thereof by additional undercutting of soil layers at furrow sides; shifting spring-loaded plates toward ridge to be formed, with compaction thickness being increased from planting zone to ridge base and trapezium-shaped section of ridge slopes being formed, trapezium bases ratio being 1:8. Ridge forming apparatus has hillers and tillage drum with ridge formers. Said components are successively mounted on frame. Hillers are equipped with knives-moldboards. When moldboard-type hillers are used, knives-moldboards are placed under lower edges of moldboards of hiller bodies and made in special manner. Hillers may be of disk type. Knives-moldboards of such embodiment are mounted under cutting edges of disks. EFFECT: increased bearing capacity of ridge slopes and improved water conditions for plant growing. 4 cl, 4 dwg
