MULTIFUNCTIONAL MOTOR CAR GASOLINE ADDITIVE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: petroleum processing and motor car industry.

SUBSTANCE: multifunctional additive contains up to 100% N-monomethylaniline, 1-40% oxygenates, up to 4.0% detergent, and 0.0005 to 1% reaction product of alkylpolyalkanolamines of formula R¹mN(R²OH)_n, where R¹ is hydrogen or C₁-C₃-radical, R² is C₂-C₃-radical, n=0-3, and m=3-n, with higher saturated or unsaturated resin carboxylic acids of formula RCOOH, where R is C₁₀-C₃₀-radical.Additive contains oxygenates selected from methyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, methyl tert-ethyl ether, and mixture of the latter with tert-butyl alcohol. Additive further contains detergent, namely product of reaction of higher saturated or unsaturated resin carboxylic acids with 10-30 carbon atoms and polyethylenepolyamine of general formula [H₂N(C₂H₄NH)_n]H with n=1-7. Additive may also contain antioxidant in amounts up to 0.6%. Additive is added to motor car gasoline in proportions between 1.3 and 2.5 wt %.

EFFECT: enabled increased production of high-quality lead-free gasolines.
