POWER PLANT OF SUBMERSIBLE VEHICLE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2231870 C2

FIELD: building of submarine vessels.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to power plants incorporating electrochemical generators with oxygen-hydrogen fuel elements, it can be employed in mix of power generating system of submersible vehicle. In accordance with invention power plant of submersible vehicle includes electrochemical generators with oxygen-hydrogen fuel elements, interconnected vessel storing liquid oxygen and evaporator of liquid oxygen with main line supplying oxygen into electrochemical generator and vessel storing water linked by main line of water drain from electrochemical generator. Power plant is supplemented with tank storing methanol, mixer, evaporator, unit of fuel converters and unit separating gases, which is joined with its hydrogen outlet to main line supplying hydrogen into electrochemical generator. Power plant is also provided with interlinked unit of liquefaction of carbonic acid and unit storing carbonic acid. Unit of liquefaction of carbonic acid is connected with its outlet to unit separating gases and evaporator of liquid oxygen, water-storing vessel is connected by water supply main line to mixer. As result of invention there is no need to design adjacent expensive thermostatting and liquid hydrogen storage systems. There are also excluded unauthorized leaks of gaseous hydrogen from system storing it, which results in substantial enhancement of fire and explosion-proof protection of power plant.

EFFECT: substantially enhanced fire and explosion-proof protection of power plant.
