FIELD: coupling and uncoupling various units of space objects.
SUBSTANCE: proposed mechanism has actuator containing memorized-effect wire (9,10). Free end of this wire holds end (7,8) of tightened wire (4) which locks holder made in form of segments (2,3) held by wire (4) to avoid separation under action of force of mechanical spring (6). Fitted in threaded hole formed by segments (2,3) is threaded pin (20) which is to be locked. As temperature rises due to heating for example of wire (9,10), its free end gets shortened and extends from hole (27,28) formed by end (7,8) of tightened wire 94). As a result, wire (4) unlocks holder and segments (2,3) move apart under action of force of spring (6), thus releasing pin (20).
EFFECT: simplified construction; reduced power requirements; enhanced efficiency.
