FIELD: organometallic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel derivative of phthalic acid that can be used as an intermediate substance in synthesis of new substituted metallophthalocyanines representing interest as dyes and catalysts. Invention describes 3-bromo-4-carboxy-5-sulfophthalic acid dipotassium salt. Invention provides the possibility for synthesis of water-soluble halogen-substituted phthalocyanines able to dissolve in broader range of pH values and eliciting also the ability to stain cotton fibers and cloth made of them.
