FIELD: hydrometallurgy of nickel; methods of reworking of ferrous cakes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes mixing of ferrous cake with sodium chloride in the amount of 30% of mass of raw cake, repulpation of mixture by sulfuric acid solution, settling of iron at pH= 3 by sodium sulfate followed by thermolysis of filtrate for obtaining iron concentrate and ferric oxide powder (III) adaptable for production of iron-oxide pigment.
EFFECT: reduction of losses of metal due to return of them to process.
