ALUMINUM-BASE HIGH-STRENGTH ALLOY AND ARTICLE MADE OF THIS ALLOY Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2233902 C1

FIELD: metallurgy, alloys.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to alloys based on the system Al-Zn-Mg-Cu designated for application as structural universal material in aerospace technique and transport facilities. Invention proposes alloy and article made of its comprising the following components, wt.-%: zinc, 6.5-8.0; magnesium, 1.6-2.5; copper, 0.8-2.2; zirconium, 0.01-0.2; silver, 0.01-0.5; scandium, 0.01-0.35; titanium, 0.01-0.1; iron, 0.01-0.2; silicon, 0.01-0.15; manganese, 0.01-0.1; beryllium, 0.0001-0.05; phosphorus, 0.00001-0.05; oxygen, 0.0001-0.01; aluminum, the balance. Invention provides the development of alloy with improved indices of weldability, stable mechanical properties at enhanced temperatures (up to 160 C) in retention of high values of strength limit, conventional creep limit, relative elongation, destruction viscosity, corrosion stability, and preparing an article made of this alloy eliciting indicated properties. In particular case for preparing alloy the following ratio if performed: total content of Zr + Sc + Ti = 0.15-0.4 wt.-% or total content of Cu + Ag ≤ 2.5 wt.-%.

EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of alloy and article.
