GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT ELECTROSTIMULATOR Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2234345 C2

FIELD: medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device has dielectric bushing having two cup-shaped electrodes forming sealed capsule, stimulating impulse oscillator circuit having rectangular impulse oscillator, the first frequency divider connected to the first restriction resistor to output device and power supply source connected to the circuit. One of the cup-shaped electrodes is covered with indifferent insulation material soluble in gastrointestinal tract medium. Additional electrode is mounted on the dielectric bushing between the cup-shaped electrodes. It is electrically insulated from the electrodes and connected to negative pole of the power supply source. The rectangular impulse oscillator output is connected to the first electronic keys channel input which first and second outputs are connected to the first and the second frequency divider, respectively. Output of the second frequency divider is connected to via output unit to the first restricting resistor connected to the second electronic keys channel input which first output is connected to a cup-shaped electrode and the second output via the second restricting resistor to a cup-shaped electrode coated with indifferent insulation material connected to signal input of the output unit which signal output is connected to corresponding outputs giving permission for signal of the first and the second electronic keys channel of controllable electronic keys to pass. The number of stimulated segments of the gastrointestinal tract being equal to N, where N=3 or higher, the gastrointestinal tract electrostimulator device has N-1 additional electrodes where N is the number of stimulated gastrointestinal tract segments with N=3,4,…,N. The additional electrodes are mounted on dielectric bushing between cup-shaped electrodes and electrically insulated from them and from each other. One of additional electrodes is connected to negative pole of power supply source and the other are coated with various indifferent insulation materials soluble in various gastrointestinal tract media. The rectangular impulse oscillator output is connected to the micro-controller inputs having one of outputs connected to the cup- shaped electrode via the first restricting resister. N-th output is connected to the cup- shaped electrode coated with indifferent insulation material via restricting resister-RN. Other N-2 outputs are connected to additional N-2 electrodes via corresponding via corresponding restricting resisters R2…RN-1 with additional N-2 electrodes.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of electrostimulation.
