FIELD: electrical engineering; high-voltage current-limiting fuses.
SUBSTANCE: current-limiting fuse has insulating body accommodating fusible link and filled with arc-suppression material, as well as caps closing this body at ends. Fusible link is made in the form of two parallel spirally coiled fusible members with round-section bar passed through each of them and rigidly fixed to caps; this bar is made of shock-proof and arc-resistant material such as mullite-corundum, its diameter being smaller than that of spiral. Fusible member is made for instance in the form of variable-section round wire or perforated band.
EFFECT: enhanced rated currents, reduced minimal disconnecting currents, improved specific characteristics, reduced cost of fuse.
