FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment of sowing machines for embedding small seed crops, such as mustard, into soil in late autumn, winter and early spring periods.

SUBSTANCE: shank has carrier, seed feeding funnel, point and baffle. Skid is positioned between carrier and point. Slot is formed in carrier clearance on skid. Funnel is mounted above slot in carrier. Baffle is defined by beveled surface on front face of slot. Shank of such construction allows mustard crop yield to be increased by 30-45% and oil yield to be increased by 18-22%.

EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency.
