METHOD FOR TREATING CHRONIC OSTEOMYELITIS OF LONG BONES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, traumatology.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with surgical treatment of osteomyelitic focus located intraosseously. One should cut out an osseous fragment upon soft-tissue nourishing stems in projection of pathological focus, turn the flap by rotation around its own axis, sanitate pathological focus through developed fenestra within the limits of healthy tissues, from inside, from the side of medullary canal one should perform osteoperforations up to periosteum at the whole access distance and at the flap at the distance against each other being 1.5 cm; osteoperforations are of cone-shaped form with its bottom facing towards inside of medullary canal, flap should be fixed into "maternal bottom" with the help of a needle with supporting platform and operated segment of long bone should be stabilized with apparatus for external fixation that stimulates regeneration due to increased circulation in focal area.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
