FIELD: petrochemical process catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preparing multicomponent catalyst for oxidation of propylene into acrolein. Method comprises: mixing catalyst components; drying resulting mixture; decomposing metal salts conducted in a stepwise manner at temperature rising from 150 to 250оС over a period of 10 h, preferably from 150 to 180оС for 3 h, from 180 to 210оС for 5 h. and from 210 to 250оС for 2 h; calcination of active catalyst components in two steps at temperatures 380-430оС and 400-480оС, respectively, with intermediate shaping of catalyst powder between the two steps.
EFFECT: increased activity of catalyst with no loss in its strength.
