APPARATUS FOR MAKING ELONGATED SECTIONS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of elongated tubular shells of sheet material.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing, table, power cylinders, slide, shaping unit, control system. Housing has sections, in each section power cylinder is mounted. Section of housing are placed uniformly along table, and they are mutually joined in such a way that spacing between sections exceeds their front dimension. Shaping unit includes punch and die. Punch is mounted on slide and it has cross section constant along its length. Die has linear members movable along width of table and it is provided with return power cylinders. Control system may provide any combination of working power cylinders.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of articles, enlarged manufacturing possibilities, possibility for making elongated sections with predetermined diameter in the form cylinders, truncated cones, truncated pyramids, enlarged using range of products due to manufacture of thick-wall and composite metallic articles.
