FIELD: radio communications technology.

SUBSTANCE: method includes altering values of comfort noise parameters, usually used for generating comfort noise, quality of comfort noise is increased, generation of comfort noise is performed by means of device for speech decoding during time spans, in which speech is absent. Values of comfort noise parameter are altered in response to receiving information about changeability, matching parameter of comfort noise. Altered values of comfort noise parameters are then used for generation of comfort noise.

EFFECT: higher system capacity.
