FIELD: plastic working of metals, in particular, gauging of pipe ends by squeezing.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has power mechanism with supporting plate and sectioned die. Die sections define gauging opening and are connected for displacement with respect to one another toward opening axis. Two horizontal die sections are positioned for moving on lower section, one of vertical faces of said sections being made beveled. Upper section is provided with two wedge-shaped protrusions designed for engagement with beveled portions. Protrusions and beveled portion of faces are arranged at an angle of 60 deg. Each horizontal section is adapted for embracing of 15-25% of surface of pipe portion to be deformed.
EFFECT: simplified construction, improved quality of gauging of pipe ends, and wider range of diameters of pipes subjected to gauging process.
