SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of polymer compositions, in particular cross-linked polyethylene-based compositions, and may find use in manufacture of products obtained by thermal molding process, in particular various profiled products such as pipes, fittings, and flanges employed in heat water-supply networks. Composition is prepared by successively, in one process step, mixing 100 wt parts polyethylene, 0.05-0.5 wt parts organic peroxide, and 0.05-0.1 wt parts vegetable-origin oil or fish oil containing fatty acid glycerides having acid number between 1.0 and 6.0 mg KOH/g followed by thermal molding.

EFFECT: enabled preparation of high-quality product in a process with reduced number of steps.
